WORLD LITERACY FOUNDATION
Reading opens the mind and imagination to allow anyone anywhere to visit any part of the world. As our charity of choice, we will be raising money for the World Literacy Foundation. They are a global non-profit organization striving to ensure that every child, regardless of geographic location, has the opportunity to acquire literacy skills and books to reach their full potential – succeeding at school and beyond.
COOL EARTH
Each team will be raising money for Cool Earth, the official charity of the Rickshaw Run, who’s mission is to work with rainforest communities to protect their local environment. By setting up in-country teams to work directly with communities and local NGOs to develop their capacity, their partnerships are always community-led with a focus on people and place. To date they’ve reduced carbon on our planet by over 15 million tons and protected 99,162 hectares of rainforest.
